Am I The Only One Who Finds This Strange ?

I saw this van the other day and I wonder if it strikes any else as strange?
It touts made in the USA and is on a Japanese import van ?????

My guess he (or she) is a liberal as well with this kind of logic.

  1. Bubba, it's gotten to the point where Japanese cars are about as American as Chevy. It's just a matter of economics. Here I own and drive a GMC, you drive a Dodge, and yet my other vehicle is an Acura MDX. They last, get great mileage and since a member of our family supports his household with a pay check from Acura and keeps our car in tiptop shape, I'd be stupid to drive anything else.

    1. I'm sorry a Japanese car is not American. Some of them may be assembled here but the profits are banked overseas. For the same reason I can't buy a bicycle from Walmart that is made in China and claim it is made in America just because I assembled it here.

  2. As Stephen pointed out, many "foreign" cars are now made here. On the other hand, there's this: the courtesy shuttle for the local BMW dealer is a Dodge Caravan. That one is a bit harder to figure out.

The point of the post was this person was wanting us to buy American but he did not follow his advice. If I am not mistaken the Scion is 100% made, assembled and imported from Japan.

  3. At some point it boils down to just built with pride. But I do side with Duke, strange looking. But how many of the zombies see a Japanese van ??

Good point Rob, I think that is part of what is wrong with this country. We are a global economy but it has to have balance. Me personally.......well I had better shut up, probably ticked off a few people already.
BTW, I wrote an email to this company and voiced my thoughts.

    2. The answer is none, all they see is made in the USA or American Made. Now some companies are bring their jobs back here. But the D.C. Idiot will take the credit.

  5. My wife's dentist told her that some other dentist are now sourcing gold and other stuff they use from china . Of course that would be because it's cheaper. rt

    1. Could be, I don't think gold would vary any between countries except the quality of the crowns etc and the workmanship. I just thought it strange this person was promoting buying "USA" but did not follow his own advice. It is a free country and if he wants to drive a import that's totally fine I just think it's extremely tacky to put "made in the USA" on the back. Thanks for the input.
      Duke.
