Obama Care Tax

I know I get on rants at times but in reality I try to be optimistic. When the SCOTUS ruled that the health care law would stand I felt like I had been gut shot but I reality don't know what to think or believe. I have listened to different opinions and am still not sure.
I am sure the court should have thrown it all out but if that had happened Obama would campaign heavily on "we passed health reform and the republicans took it away"  He would convince a lot of independent voters that he would be the one to get their health care back.
By the courts ruling the way they did (the reason is unimportant now) they have dumped the whole burden for this on the middle class. The fact is this has zero impact on the wealthy because they have insurance or are self insured and therefore won't pay the fine the poor on the other hand are exempt because they can't afford it so this is forced on middle class totally. This in effect hangs a huge noose around Obama and all the democrats who passed this because they passed the largest tax in history and dumped it totally on the middle class. Up until now any new tax was proportionate from lower to upper class with the rich paying the majority of it but not in this case. I know the big Zero has a way to spin anything but in this case he can't blame Bush and I tend to think the SCOTUS handing this to Obama is like handing a concrete block to a drowning man.
On a slightly different note, I don't like the AARP because of their stand on Obama Care and is becoming apparent they stand to gain a lot from this judging from the high volume of adds on TV at the moment. Those adds cost a lot of money and they aren't doing it for public service reasons, they are selling everything car to health insurance so they have figured they can get rich off of this.
Goes to show if you want to know a reason for something, follow the money.

Act of Compassion

I have been hearing about the 'Americans With Disabilities Act' and how the government is requiring hotels, restaurants, stores etc go the extra mile in accommodating handicap persons. I even understand new roller-coaster rides now have to have a wheel chair spot on them, I don't know if I would trust that but nevertheless this is progress.
Nobody has ever accused me of being cold and uncaring so when I read this it makes me want to do my part to make the country a better place for those who need help. I decided I concentrate on the people with reasoning disorders, particularly those who can't understand the dangers of voting for people like Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank etc. It worries me that there are people out there so devoid of mental reasoning they would be suckered into voting for dangerous political candidates and therefore put us and them in peril. I think the best way to accommodate them would be have them all request absentee ballots for this years election and forward them to me to fill out. I would fill them out correctly and promise to return them on time so they could be counted. The benefit of this would not just be to the individual but also to the country.
Hopefully I have also inspired some of you to volunteer you time to help out in a similar way.  It is the very least we can do to make the world a better place and in return I promise you will have a warm fuzzy feeling deep inside.

Neat Trick, Cooking Corn

I love corn on the cob. Someone recently sent me this link in an email so I had to check it out and I can attest it worked very well.
It does work a little easier if after cooking you don't cut the ear too close to the end. Pretty neat trick though.

Time To Take Out The Trash

Obama recently showed his contempt for the country by allowing a bunch of activists into the White House who had to post pictures of themselves standing in front of the Ronald Reagan painting while giving him an obscene gesture. How could this lowest kind of human debris and pure garbage act like this in front of security and not be stopped. I would rather be in a Iraqi outhouse in 130 degree heat than with this lowest form of sub human filth.

I hope after the election they take all the furniture out of the white house and have it steamed cleaned, rip out all the carpet and burn it on the white house lawn and then fumigate the whole building with one of those fumigation tents, then hold a press conference and say the building has been a trash dump too long and it is time to put some pride and common decency back into it. I would pay good money to watch coverage of that on CBS or CNN
Ronald Reagan had such high regard and respect for the oval office he would not enter it without a tie on.

And there are still people who will vote for this type of human waste, God help us all.

Who Would Have Guessed ?

I came across this lifespan calculator , it's pretty interesting. I tried it and it said I would live to 87 years old. Who knew not wearing a seat-belt would make you live so long.
I guess the government doesn't know what is best for me after all.

Could It Really Be True ?

I happened to look at my 'stats' on blogger yesterday and saw two readers from Kenya. I suspect it is Obama's brother and his aunt.
So a special welcome to both of you, hope you get a chance to visit the white house before November but don't be afraid to hit the follow button, it's not like the big Zero is going to cut off your allowance.
(I'm sorry, that was harsh)

Where Can I Go ?

We all have thoughts about one day retiring or even moving out to a more simpler lifestyle where we can relax and breathe a little easier. I have done some research, looking for places that have somewhat desirable weather,  good growing seasons, rainfall, water supply etc. but the one of the biggest issues for me is taxes. I hate paying taxes. I don't disagree that we need to fund some government functions but one of the most unfair methods is property taxes.
I don't believe I should pay more or less because my property is worth more or less. Does it cost more to fix the road in front of my house than it does in front of you house? or does it cost more for police protection in my neighborhood than the slums? (OK I admit bad example) does your garbage cost more to dispose of than mine? You see the property tax structure/system is pure communism, you or I pay more because we can afford it. I would not have as big a problem with it if I got one vote in all elections for every $1,000 of total taxes I paid, that might be a system I could live with. I really like the idea of the Fair Tax, I believe it would boost our economy so much and business would come back  so fast we would be begging Mexicans to come here to work. I think it is criminal that we can buy a piece of property and through hard work build a nice homestead and be taxed out of it because we raise the value too much. I promise you if the founders of the country saw this coming there would be a constitutional amendment preventing it.
I have mentioned before that the government controls every detail of our lives from the air you breathe and the water you drink to the tissue you blow your nose with which is why it is so desirable to me to have as little government intervention as possible. I don't really care about police or fire protection, I can design and work around that, just don't hassle me about where I bury the bodies.
I have thought of even building a big house boat to avoid property taxes, sometimes I think the people with the most freedom in this country are the homeless. When it comes to property taxes you don't even have the option of not paying because they will send some goon to throw you in the street and put a lock on the door. So the question is what can a person do? Where can we go to avoid the government control? Does anybody have the slightest idea of what freedom means besides the choice of watching American Idol or the Bachelor.

Not Good # 37 (Dating Advice)

Girls, this is not a good candidate to take home to meet your parents, which reminds me of an older post I did and which bears repeating.

Rule 1 :  If you pull into my driveway and honk you better be delivering a package because you're sure not picking anything up.
Rule 2 :  You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off my daughter's body, I will remove them.
Rule 3 : I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys of your age to wear their pants so loosely that they appear to be falling off your hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you & your friends
are complete idiots, if you show up at my house like this I will force you to leave.
Rule 4 : I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing the "barrier method" of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate, when it comes to sex I am the barrier, I will kill you.
Rule 5 : You may think for us to get to know each other and we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I need from you is when you expect to have my daughter  safely back at my house,  and the only word I need is "early".
Rule 6 : I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as  it is okay with my  daughter, otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry then I will make you cry.
Rule 7 :  As you stand in my front hallway waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie you should not be dating, my daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just
standing there why don't you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?
Rule 8 : The following places are NOT appropriate for a date with my daughter: places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool; places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eyesight; places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls a sweater or a goose down parka zipped up to her throat.  Movies with a strong romantic or sexual theme are to be avoided,  movies which feature chain saws are OK. Old folks homes  are better.
Rule 9 : Do not lie to me. I am not a middle aged, dimwitted has been. But, on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all knowing merciless god of your universe. If  I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. I have a gun, a shovel, and five acres behind my house. Do not trifle with me.
Rule 10 : Be afraid. Be very afraid. It takes very little for me to mistake the sound of your car in the driveway for a suicide bomber in the Iraqi desert. When I start having flashbacks, the voices in my head frequently tell me to "lock and load" as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit your car with both hands in plain sight, speak the perimeter password and announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car. There is no reason for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window  is mine.

Any Ideas, Please Help

I am about at my wits end on this one, I use a credit card for most purchases because I get cash back and I always pay the bill in full each month this includes, gas, ammo, food, ammo, bills, guns, ammo, insurance, ammo etc. (you get the picture) anyway since Christmas I have had my credit card number stolen six times, roughly once a month. My card has not been physically stolen but a duplicate card has been made and used at places like Sam's Clubs and gas stations, I may see a $1 charge at a Sam's club and then a string of gas purchases, usually 3 or 4 over a 24 hour period.  This usually happens at locations a few hundred miles from where I have been.

The activity usually gets detected very quickly, by myself or the credit card company, usually while the purchases are still pending.
I have not been held responsible for any charges but it is getting bazaar. I have 2 different credit cards and it has happened 5 times with one card once with the other, it always happens with the card I am using most that month. The credit card company doesn't seem too eager to investigate very deeply,  I have changed passwords and user names, I have stopped giving the card to a waitress at a restaurant (I walk to the cash register, wherever it is) I cover the numbers at the store when I scan it, I push the clear/cancel button after gas purchases, I  try not to have a habit of using certain stores over and over, I have searched for patterns in my purchases but have no clue how it is happening. The credit card company's fraud department has offered little help. It really bugs me how it is happening and I feel it has to be something I am doing but I have searched for clues and implemented all the safeguards I can find. Other than this I have had no other instances of ID theft, bogus loans or credit theft.
Any help out there?????
With all this fraud I think the ultimate solution will be to have a chip or tattoo put in everyone's right hand or forehead,.....Hmmm...................where have I seen that idea before ?

Time To Tick Off A Few More People.

I like to read down my blog list daily for inspiration, news and other interesting tidbits.   I was reading over at Tam's Blog this morning about the two Australian Olympic swimmers who posed with guns inside a California gun shop and the stink it apparently caused in the press over there. I have spent time overseas in different countries including Australia and we (Americans) were looked upon favorably for the most part but it seems this is changing.  Further down my list I came across a post by Brigid which mentioned, among other things,  the rugged people who made this country. It seems anymore these kind if individuals are viewed as neanderthals and not very enlightened and I am sure this is part of the reason behind the flak over the Australian swimmers.
Over 50 years ago the communist party claimed they would never take over America by force but through our education system and we would fall from within. I may hurt some feelings here but I believe for the most part the government education system is the major cause of most of our problems. If young people were taught  to work hard for their success and not rely on government or community to prop them up we would be better off. I know some people have little or no option except public school but in my ever so humble opinion if you do have kids or grand kids in these schools you had better work overtime to debrief them on a regular basis if you don't want little liberals in your hands.....just saying.
It used to be rugged individuals were looked up to by almost everyone especially our education system, in school we would learn about real heroes, explorers, generals, soldiers, tough men and women who made a difference, kids would play cops and robbers, or practice exploring on weekends on the edge of town, or play fireman or war games. Today this is not tolerated, instead if you can find a plastic gun it is painted orange or lime green, if a kid even draws a picture of a gun in school they can be expelled.  They are taught to hold hands around a tree they planted to save the environment and pray wish for world peace. How else do you explain why a community organizer is elected in this country as president. All kidding aside, 50 years ago Obama's credentials would not have gotten him elected dog catcher, this is what you get for over 40 years of teaching this garbage. While I'm at it black people did not elect Obama, don't blame it on them. If you think about it a high percentage of the black population lives in the south, most of which went for McCain in the last election and through the beauty of the electoral college system, their vote counted for McCain, no, the reason the big "zero" was elected was the "can't we all just get along" crowd made possible through public education. For the record I am not against all public school teachers, I know there are many good patriots among them, some in my family but they are not the norm or at least they are forced to teach some of the garbage they do.

All this is not new, we have been creating this mess for a long time. This kind of mentality started back in the 60's with the "peace and love" generation, the baby boomers, it spawned the Vietnam protests and environmental activism etc. back then it was a few wackos but now it is mainstream with over 50% having some of these tendency's.  This is why I am so opposed to the idea to re-elect Obama so he can drive us off the cliff ( because it's inevitable anyway) and the right wing won't get the blame and we can re-build, fact is there are enough cool-aide drinkers to ensure if this happens that we will become a full blown socialist country and stay that way forever.
No, we need to take a stand here and now and start to turn this ship around or be prepared to man the lifeboats and live on a deserted island for the rest of our lives.......literally

Summer Garden

The garden is just about gone, I have dug a few potatoes, the beans are finished along with the cucumbers. The only thing left is the tomatoes. We have lots of cherry tomatoes along with large yellow and red ones. Here are some in the window sill, there is still plenty in the fridge,  they are good sliced fresh but  I need a recipe for them.

Survival Guns and Ammo

A few weeks ago I did a post on Survival Handguns listing reasons I lean toward revolvers most of the time then a few days ago I got an email from Lucky Gunner asking if I would like to review some of their ammunition and what caliber would I like to shoot. I don't need much excuse to throw some lead down range so I agreed.
There was a trend  back in the 1800's when the cartridge came into use for guns to be chambered in the same caliber, rifle and handgun to save carrying two different types of ammo in the field, I kind of like the idea myself because it would be handy in a survival situation. So when Lucky Gunner contacted me I decided to do a review on the .357 magnum ammo and test it on rifle and pistol, they said that would be a first so it was settled.
The ammo was shipped to my house and received promptly, it was the Magtech  125 gr JHP, from experience I knew this was a first rate ammo and was not disappointed.
For testing I used my stainless S&W model 65 and Marlin lever action chambered in .357 magnum.

As you see the table is wet, it was raining but that is never an excuse to not shoot so a metal spinning target was chosen in lieu of a paper target.
The ammo performed well at 25 yards, the spinning target was then moved to 100 yards for the rifle test. The ammo fed flawless in the lever action, I use peep sights on the Marlin as it is easier on my eyes and all shots hit solidly on target,  357 ammo is an excellent and proven round for self defense and from experience I can tell you it is effective on deer sized animals out to at least 100 yards and a little beyond. This ammo in the Marlin is deadly on hogs as well at 100-125 yards.
With the trend today being semi autos it is good to get back to some basic weapons and see they are still quite capable of getting the job done, just a reminder you don't need the latest and greatest to be well armed as long as you can shoot well with what you have.

Thanks again to Lucky Gunner for the chance test some ammo.
Looking at their web site they have every type of ammo I could ever need, their service was excellent and emails were answered quickly. These days it is good to do business with a company who places a value on customer service.

I Don't Think I Can Take Much More

Sometimes I get so ticked off, I have expressed this before but I can't for the life of me understand why Google is so bent on being Anti-American or Anti-Christian. They routinely ignore Christian holidays and National events and yet will honor the birthday some Mexican goat herder who died of aids over 100 years ago.
Today is a good example of their "In your face, we hate America"
Today is the anniversary of "D Day", without a doubt one of the most important days in our fight to stay free (and the freedom of the whole world for that matter)

So what does Google think is the most important event this day in history to honor on their home page?
The 79th anniversary of the drive in movie theater.
I'm done.........just shoot me.

Good to remember, it's funny but extremely true.

Time To Go Out On A Limb

Last week it was all in the news about mayor Bloomberg of New York City limiting all non-diet soda's to 16oz.
While on the surface this seems a little harsh after some reflecting I concluded most people are not smart enough to know what is best for them so maybe the government needs to step in on some issues, this soda limit is a good start but I was thinking maybe we should expand it to a federal level and I thought of some additional limits to put in place.
1, Limit all people to ONE vote in national elections, this goes for dead people as well. This would probably    not be too popular in Chicago but needs to be done.
2, Limit all welfare recipients who test positive for drugs to only ONE child, think of the money this alone would save.
3, Limit all doughnut purchases to singles (no more dozen boxes) This would the the hardest to implement in NY city as well due to high number of police.
4,  Limit all food stamp purchases to one T-bone steak per month ( to also include any other high grade cuts of meat.)
5,  Limit teenagers to one text message per day while driving, think of the money this would save. Devices could be installed on car to shut off ignition system when limit is reached.
6, Limit all Senators and Congressman to ONE term in office, with no retirement benefits.
7, Limit all persons to ONE birth certificate. (the original would be the only one allowed)
8, Limit all illegal persons to ONE paid emergency room visit per year, if they are caught abusing this they are deported.  (Actually this penalty would apply to number 7 as well)
9, Limit anyone without a job to ONE day (24 hrs) to protest in the street, this would hit the 'occupy' bunch the hardest. after their time limit was reached all government assistance would be terminated.
10, Limit overweight people to ONE fast food meal a month, you would have to step on scales to place order. (weight of carry weapon would of course be subtracted from weight)

I am sure there are other examples you could come up with as well to save money and health insurance costs.

You Know what REALLY Torques My Butt?

I am WAY past the stage of being silent about political issues, I may tick off some but I am tired of seeing our country destroyed and groups of us demonized.
See if you can spot who is giving the two handed crotch salute. (not taken at the wall)
I received an email from a veterans group who planned a visit to the Vietnam wall on Memorial Day only to find out the big "Zero" closed the wall from 0700 hrs  to 1400 hrs (7 hours) so he could give a 15 minute campaign speech disguised as a speech honoring veterans. He has shown over and over again his contempt  for this country, vets, Tea Party people, and anyone against his way of thinking. I am sure he had a few of his loyal subjects at the wall to clap and cheer for him but this blatant disrespect is hard to stomach. For the record, we may not have a perfect choice in November but I will NEVER vote for an enemy of this country.
" support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."
