Onion and Sausage |
A group of us including my friend
Stephen spent last weekend camping out at the Boar's Nest (our main BOL) It rained most of the weekend but it was an excellent time none the less. Saturday night we ate well, I fixed my popular baked beans.
I start out by frying onions with sausage. I normally use Polish type sausage or good quality hot dogs but this day I used ground sausage

Next add beans |
After the meat and onions are cooked I add a can of store bought baked beans, almost any brand will do.
 |
Brown sugar, to taste. I like mine sweet. |

One of the key ingredients is brown sugar, at least 1 cup, more to taste. I also like to add liquid smoke as well. The amount of meat and onion is not critical, the more the better. I add sugar till it tastes sweet.
Table was set, we had Burgers, Spaghetti, slaw, salad, hot coffee, baked beans along with all the condiments. Add good friends lots of good talk and a steady rain on the tin roof and you have an excellent evening.
