Colorado Shooting

It's Sunday Morning and I was having some coffee and thinking...................................
Notice 'Spanish' on police tape. Is this America????????
What if one person had a concealed carry gun in the theater and had taken out the shooter. Would the news have been different?
I am certain that a few people in there had a permit but thought "it's not worth carrying it tonight" I wonder if the wish they had now. Or maybe it was against the 'law' to conceal carry in a movie theater?
Note: good reason to not worry about what the 'law' always says......just saying. (I was going to say more about that but changed my mind)
The news said the shooter was totally decked out with body armor so authorities were  baffled as to why he gave up when confronted by police. I think he was a total coward and worried somebody with a concealed carry gun would try and take him out, another good reason why you should train and be able to shoot where needed. I also wonder why when the shooting lulled (supposedly when he was reloading) that someone didn't rush him.
I am not trying to second guess because I wasn't there and I know there was tear gas and it was dark however it does give you lots of information to mull over.

BTW, did you see the guys picture? does that look like someone you would sell a gun to?

  1. The intel I am receiving states that there are some bizarre restrictions on concealed carry in Aurora Colorado. http://www.coloradoceasefire.org/munilaws.htm

    1. If you worry about that sort of thing. I don't care about restrictions.

  2. Aurora IS the equivilent of NYC in Colorado for their restrictions... And we'll be playing what if on this one just like we have with the VT shootings.

    1. Oddly, Aurora is one of the Denver 'burbs where I've shot Bullseye with the locals on a week night. Nice folks who shoot well. Too bad they apparently dpn't go to the movies. http://www.auroragunclub.com/

    2. Ed, yeah that IS sad... Apparently he was down on the bottom of the theater, so anybody taking him on would have had a clear shot due to the stadium seating!

    3. Old NFO, I am not aware of restrictions. I have carried concealed everywhere they don't have a metal detector.
      Ed Skinner, Apparently not. Thanks.

  4. I have been a Gun Dealer in two periods of my life. I would sell a gun to a man who is qualified. Looks have nothing to do with it. Every free man has the same right to arms. There is no way to GUESS a man's intentions. His decisions and his actions are his alone.

That being said, to me this looks like a false flag attack. The formula and the script is eerily familiar. This will be used to attempt the prohibition of large capacity magazines, internet sales, and "assault weapons". Note how, magically, when the same rifle, which has no place on our streets and in our communities, is in the hands of a cop it is transformed into a warm/fuzzy "patrol rifle". Not one cop ever speaks up when his boss advocates restricting the natural rights of his citizen neighbors.

    1. Longbow, I know you can't go by looks but it did seem funny to me because he looked really weird.

  5. Bubba, remember those times on the range where each of the guys always point out I only take head shots....and why I only make head shots. It's damn hard to cover your nose with body armor.

Like you tried to say, ignore those damn signs that state guns are forbidden. I carry, period. I know you do too.

    1. I always carry, if I see a metal detector I turn around, I don't need to be there.

  6. This is just another SHTF scenario. Life as we know it changes daily with someones actions like this. I don't own a gun, yet, but I do side with those who do.

The big question is why did he give up so fast???

  7. Thanks Rob, I think he gave up because he wants the publicity.
