The garden has been in for about a month and with the recent rain needed tending.
Squash are starting to form.

Also tomatoes.
Here is some squash and zucchini plants. The corn is a little slow for some reason.
This was a new trick for me. I had always planted bush beans as poles were a pain to set up. A friend of mine used a section of chain-link wire so I decided to give it a whirl. Seems to be working good.
Duke,
ReplyDeleteI love your garden, it's really doing good for being in the ground 1 month. Yesterday was our official planting day because of the weather being to cold here. I still need to get my beans in too. I may use the fence idea.
Thanks Sandy, The fence does seem to work well, mine is 4' tall but 6' might be better.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks my friend.
DeleteHaving grown up eating 'garden fresh' foods, I truly miss those days... And there is, at least to me, closure with a garden; in that you put the work in, get to see it progress, and EAT the stuff... :-)
DeleteIt is a lot of work but the fresh food is good and can't be beat.
