And we think it's new.

I was sent this picture of a grave in Attica Cemetery, Harper county Kansas.
It is over 120 years old but it is very telling.

  3. Keep in mind however, that in his day the Democrats were the stronghold of the Conservatives. Something to think about...

    1. Spud, That is somewhat true but I guess he saw the writing on the wall because in a true democrat fashion eventually the majority will vote their pocket book instead of whats best for the country. Our founding fathers warned about it and set us up as a 'representative republic' but we are seeing the way it has turned out. Looking out for the working class does not mean letting unions run unrestrained (just one example)
      Thanks.

  4. Not to mention that the Democratic Party of his day was giving birth to the KKK in response to having lost the war to the Union. Ever read the Confederate Constitution? It's all about slavery.....

    1. Anon, I don't think this was in reference to the 'confederate constitution' which has almost nothing to do with slavery and is in fact much of it is very similar to our existing constitution. It is true the KKK had strong roots in the Democratic party, ever hear of Sen Byrd from WV.

  7. I'd have to agree with most of your statement, if you substituted Democrat with a generic "People" tend to vote their pocket books.
Each just has his own version of where their pockets get line. Both parties are equally guilty of this.
