In Honor of Earth Day

Today is supposed to be earth day, I see things like this bumper sticker which get me thinking.
Maybe it is not right that we take so much from the earth and not give back so I had an idea, I have quite a few gallons of used motor oil I was hoping to recycle in some way but that would be selfish of me so I am giving it back to the earth, I will pour it all out on the ground and return it from wince it came. I can attest there is nothing which gives you a warm fuzzy feeling like doing good for the planet.

  1. Easier to just pour down a storm drain, and it wouldn't stain the sand.

    1. Rev Paul, glad you enjoyed.
Stephen, I thought of that but it would float on top of the water and not serve a purpose.

    1. Matt, I agree, especially considering a new report which determined that 'green' energy leaves a bigger carbon footprint when you take into account all the machinery to produce it.

  4. It would have been entertaining to ask the fellow with that bumper sticker why he was driving a car. After all, by doing so he contributes to the problem.

    1. Thanks Rob.
Harry, good point, tree huggers are only environmentalists when it is someone else burning the fuel.

  6. buddy - where on earth do you come up with this crazy stuff? i say - vote Duke for president! then we can take all of the gas and oil in the world and dump it back in the ground! oh and don't forget to make sure to dump some of that oil and gas in the rivers, lakes and oceans! and while we're at it - let's slaughter all of the farting cows and steers and help the ozone at the same time! Duke for President - who's with me?

    1. Kymber, It is a gift I live with but I would not put oil in the water, it would not taste good.
