Recently while visiting in the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee I saw this sign.
While I am not 100% sure of the meaning the way it is written I am kind of sure they did not approve of me
carrying my J-frame Smith & Wesson around in my pocket the whole time I was there.
Oh well What they didn't know didn't hurt them.
On a scale of 1 to 10 my "care factor" was negative 5.
On top of that, doesn't federal parks now "allow" conceal carry anyway?
ReplyDeletesigns, signs, everywhere signs
screw 'em
I had heard that, this was actually a city owned park in town.
Delete11 and 29 days.
ReplyDeleteHow about 40, someone got paid by the word.
on or in? Can a guy even tunnel anymore :(
It is kind of strange, maybe folks around there can't count that high.
DeleteMax,
Delete"11 and 29 days."
Whoever made the sign forgot the word "months".
Duke,
"maybe folks around there can't count that high"
Vols can count higher than 'Noles any day of the week. :p
Tam, That makes sense however they must have had a computer printed sign because I saw a few more the same way.
DeleteBTW, I agree with the 'Noles comment. (more of a Gator fan)
Dumb asses. Besides, I can't read...either.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to develop selective vision as well
DeleteMy point exactly. thanks Bubba.
DeleteSelective vision and hearing here!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to protect myself and family members when I need too.
Sandy, me and you both my friend. thanks.
DeleteI wonder just how much force of law these signs really carry? Do they have to ask you to leave first? or does the local PD get involved right away?
ReplyDeleteI know a no gun sign here in Iowa means exactly dick. They have to ask you to leave. If you don't, they can call the coppers, who in turn ask you to leave. Only if you refuse the PD's request can you be cited for trespass, a misdemeanor. I've got to where the only places I don't carry are federal buildings and any place with a metal detector. What sign?
Robert, I have heard on private property it is basically meaningless, maybe it's a CYA for the property owner if something happens, who knows. On government property it may be a different issue especially if it is written in the laws and statutes. Basically, like you say I only worry about metal detectors.
DeleteThere are a few things the state of my birth got right. Their concealed carry law was one of them. It sure was nice to not have to "undress" to go into a restaraunt that serves alcohol.
DeleteLarry, Agreed. Thanks.
DeleteDon't blame you for keeping it in your pocket. My gun is on me everywhere except when I go into the bank and airport. I know there are metal detectors at the court house and police stations but I try to avoid those places....LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the selective reading!
Mamma Bear, I have carried in the bank and airport, the airport doesn't check unless you are boarding. thanks.
DeleteSee, I cain't unnerstand that, un, cuz I done went to public skool.
ReplyDeleteMe 2, tankx
DeleteThat is why we carry 'concealed'... Just sayin...
ReplyDeleteExcellent point, if it's concealed who will know anyway.
Deletedear sweet Duke...i feel sad for all of the Americans...and Canadians, too...who can't read eh? or maybe just miss signs...ya know like "golly gee, park ranguh...i guess i didn't see the sign?!?!"
ReplyDeleteack. whateva - bahahahahahah! you keep rocking Duke, buddy! your friend,
kymber
Thanks Kymber, If I visit you I will be 'packin' as well.
Deletebuddy - i would expect nothing less!!!
DeleteWhere I live that would not even come close to meeting the signage requirements so we are legally allowed to sally forth without worrying about being persecuted or prosecuted. If we're discovered and are asked to leave we must comply but if you have good concealment practices that shouldn't be an issue.
ReplyDeleteGarand Gal, very true, if it is well concealed it is NOT an issue.
