All the liberalism around here is starting to effect the wildlife. These Canada Geese are supposed to fly down here to Florida in the winter and return home in the summer but I have noticed a lot of places around here they are not going back. They hang out at local parks and get fed and are now too lazy to fly home.
It has gotten so bad now their young are born down here and they will never know what it's like to work for their food. I can tell you folks, we did not see this down here 20 or 30 years ago, this is the warfare state at it's ugliest.

ReplyDeleteYou think it's bad now, just wait till they start getting gold caps on their bills (with stars embedded in them) and start to riot and loot when they can't get the newest Nike sportshoe, or the havok they create when one of them gets shot during hunting season... the Black Ducks will raise hell like you've never seen.
DeleteHas anyone tried importing hawks, falcons or other raptors? One man's nuisance is another sentient being's tasty snack treat.
DeleteMatt, fortunately they cant read or write so they cant apply for anything.
DeleteRussell, that might work. Thanks.
Thank God the ones around here leave in the fall. A friend lives in the burbs and says you can't even walk in the parks because of all the messy, smelly droppings.
ReplyDeletePhyllis, they probably leave to come here, they do make a mess, that much is true. Thanks.
DeleteSo you noticed it too. Amazing isnt it.
ReplyDeleteSenior, it is true and they did not used to be here 15 years ago.....at all.
DeleteWhy be cold and forage for food when heat and vittles are provided free of charge?
ReplyDeleteI guess that's a valid reason as long as they realize they might be lower on the food chain here. I am sure a gator has nabbed one or two.
Delete+1 on Brigid... we used to shoot them for dinner... The fast ones flew away... :-)
ReplyDeleteOld NFO, that to. I am sure they are not protected down here but you never know.
DeleteWe have them up in MN. They multiply faster then rabbits. To me its another source of food.
ReplyDeleteRob, very true, I have not ate one but I would like to try.
