Missing the point

A lot of people seem to be missing the point with this so called government shutdown especially in regard to National Parks and National Monuments.
Who is the government? It is not 0bama or the Senate or the Congress or the cops or the FBI or military it is 'we the people' all these others are our employees, they work (or don't work) for us.
Blocking off a wide open park is grandstanding pure and simple, maybe next they can block off all federal interstate highways, which they won't do but it proves my point exactly. The white house is picking and choosing which things to fund and stay 'open' to further a political agenda. Disabled vets are low on the totem pole.  I wonder if our enemies overseas are still getting their foreign aid ?

  2. Hey Duke;

    The petulant boy king wants everybody to feel the pain of not submitting to his will, that is all it is. Gotta make the "Hoi Polloi" hurt. Standard Democrat temper tantrum

  3. Unfortunately, I am sure that any federal money sent overseas to our enemies has not stopped. I am puzzled by what is considered non-essential in this shutdown. I, for one, will suffer greatly if this gets worse. However, I can stand it no matter how much it hurts. But, I doubt anyone receiving our money overseas will be discomforted at all.

    1. PP, None of them seem to care as long as they stay in power.

  4. Bravo Duke, they do work for us. We all should call their offices and tell them get this crap over and done with or they are out of office next election. Period.

  5. It's as if we OWE the foreign countries all that aid, so we can still swagger. But being in debt and still tossing money around is NOTHING to be proud of. It is in the Constitution that, no matter what, the "government" will continue to receive their paychecks so that none of them will run off.

    I personally wish we COULD stop their paychecks for several reasons. Our debt would drastically go down, and they WOULD run off.

    Now we have to worry about our retirement that was put into government bonds when we had faith in the country being ran by people who CARED about America.

    Even though there can't be FOUR MORE YEARS, I seriously doubt there will be anything of value left by the time this massacre is over.

    1. Lotta Joy, if we had a family member who was broke and had to borrow money and spent it all on wasteful items we would call them a fool and might even go to court get them ruled mentally incompetent.........hmm, not a bad idea.
