Paying my fair share

I was reading over at Rural Revolution where some left leaning bed wetter left a comment and was whining about Romney not paying his fair share of taxes. The person had commented that they paid 30% taxes and Romney only paid 15% in taxes. My first thought is obviously Romney is smarter than you because he only pays 15% but in fact that 15% amounts to $3 million in real money which is more than I pay in a lifetime. The writer was also complaining that the US should have free health care and free education. What an idiot............I don't know where to begin. what is free????? is public school free? I pay a lot in local school taxes so it's not free.
As far as health care, just because other countries want to tax the citizens to death to pay for health care what make them think it is a good idea for us. To begin with EVERYONE in this country has health care (not insurance but health care) if a homeless bum goes to the hospital they get health care. It is funny that they think out system is outdated however when the ultra wealthy of other countries want care many times they come here. Even Fidel Castro went to NY a few years ago for health care.
Your tax dollars at work.
This 'fair share' thing gets me and is pure Communism. We don't pay our fair share at the gas pump or grocery store or any other store, we all pay the same regardless of how much money we make.

I want the able-bodied welfare bums to start  paying their fair share, I am sick and tired of paying my share and theirs.

This sums up my thoughts exactly.

  1. Very true....Back when I was working at Ford, onb my toolbox I had a sticker that said "keep on working...millions on welfare depend on you" When 1 out of 7 Americans get some kind of government assistance, this is a problem. We are raising a generation of freeloaders.

    1. MrG's, very true.
I think it is probably higher than 1 in 7 now. Thanks.

  2. The other think they always leave out is that he pays 15% in capital gains. So the money used to pay his "salary" has already been tax by the local, state and federal governments. He's paid a hell of a lot more than 15% - it's just that our pathetic education system has turned out a couple generations of economic dolts who simply can not understand the whole idea of living off your investments . . . .

    1. eiaftinfo, that is why I said I don't know where to begin. We are taxed on top of taxes. Some people are not bright enough to ever get it and it's not worth wasting your breath. Thanks my friend.

  4. eia is correct, the 15% is capital gains on investments, he doesn't "work" and draw a salary per se... Also, he donates 20% of his 'income' to the church, so that is about $4M a year.

    1. Old NFO, true, either way he pays a boat load of taxes in real dollars. If everyone in this country paid a tenth of what he does we would have no problems.

  5. Great post Duke, I agree with you totally. Obviously the guy who responded to Patrice is not a bright individual. "Eiaftinfo" is correct commenting what Romney has paid.

    1. "I want the able-bodied warfare bums to start paying their fair share"...I agree...Dick Cheney needs to pay his fair share.

I think you mean "welfare" not warfare. 2 Thessalonians 3:1
