I would like to welcome 2 new followers, MSgt B of my muse shanked me and andrews reclaimed
Be sure to check them out and say Hi
I will work on getting my tiller running today and turn the soil for the first time this year. I do have a 8N ford tractor I could use (and may) I used it to plow gardens and mow heavy brush years ago.
I still think these are the best looking tractors ever made, mine was made in 1951 and still runs good.
Beautiful tractor...be sure and tug it along when and if we ever need to bug out...
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing, it has a little flat head 4 cyl engine and will run all day on 5 gal of gas.
DeleteThat MSgt B is one heck of a smart fella.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link, Duke!
My thoughts exactly. You're welcome.
DeleteI wish I had an old 9N. They are a real handy machine.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a 9N when I was a kid. As you know it was made before the 8N and had 3 forward gears as the 8N has 4 forward gears. Other than that almost the same.
DeleteDear Duke, i just showed jambaloney the tractor (i knew he would love it) and now he is groaning and moaning. thanks for sharing your tractor!
ReplyDeleteyour friend,
kymber
Kymber my friend, these old tractors were made for a few years and are worth more now than they were new. I love mine, I actually have 2 of them.
ReplyDeleteDuke.
i was going to say something sweet but jambaloney said " tell him he is a show off with 2 of them" - bahahahaha! he doesn't mean it...he's just a little envious. we are going to find an appropriate tractor this year. jambaloney just wants to come down and steal one of yours. you can understand, my sweet friend? bahahahahah!
Deleteyour friend,
kymber
I didn't plan on having two but another one came along at a price I could not pass on. I will probably sell one eventually.
DeleteThat's a beautiful tractor. I still regret not bring something home from the Tri State tractor and Steam show.
ReplyDeleteBrigid, I love the 8N Ford tractor. I guess it is nostalgic to me but I like the looks and they are easy pieces of machinery to work on.
DeleteI love the Ford "red belly"!
ReplyDeleteKeads, I do to. To me they were the best little tractors made (for what they were made for)
DeleteSure wish my old 8n looked that good... it's a 48' we rebuilt the motor some 12 years ago, use it weekly to maintain our private road, and to move a lot of desert around... greatest tractor ever built in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI agree, they are great. They are definitely worth fixing up and keeping. Thanks.
