Back From the Boar's Nest

Yours truly putting some rounds down range.
Well we survived, A group of friends including my friend Stephen spent the weekend camping at our retreat we call the Boar's Nest. It rained off and on most of the time but we enjoy getting away. Saturday we did some needed work to our cabin and spent the afternoon shooting.

Senior shooting a course.
I like shooting on our own like this, we have the freedom to set up our own courses and hone different techniques you don't get to do at local shooting ranges. One thing I learned over the years is shooting on a gun range might let you learn basic marksmanship but it does very little prepare you for real life shooting.

Overall it was very enjoyable. We had a good cookout Saturday night and ate till we couldn't move, of course any time you get to hang out with friends, eat and shoot guns you are bound to have a good time.

  5. We're just about to go on our big, annual guys' weekend. Lots of shooty goodness and great food and walking for hours in the woods and fishing. There's nothing like the comraderie you get with these kind of trips. It looks like you guys had a great time.
