Sure solution, no joke.

Yesterday I was making light of the governments ideas to stop future school shootings but I propose a serious solution.
We have thousands of military veterans who need jobs, with minimal extra training we could station 3 or 4 armed guards at every school.
I'm not talking about a pudgy guard with a 9mm but  battle trained soldiers with a AR15's, and make them highly visible. This idea is being used in Israel and you won't see  a school shooting there.
Talk about a 'win-win' situation, we solve a problem and give a boost to returning vets who need work, you see these cowards who prey on the weak, helpless and unarmed do so because their victims are weak, helpless and unarmed but armed guards/troops would solve this.
I can just hear some left wing bed wetter saying "but what about some crazy guard with PTSD going nuts" The answer would be to screen all applicants but also by having 3 or more at each school it would prevent something like that happening. I know this is a drastic measure but we have created a society where these measures are needed and this would work, guaranteed.
Anyone who wants to argue with this 'fix' really doesn't want to solve the problem and doesn't mind seeing more dead children they just want to ban guns, and we all know which path the government will take.

  1. Works for me. We could also put returning troops on the boarder with Mexico with shoot to kill orders. That will stop the Illegals and the drug smuggling.

  2. The only problem is, the Federal government is labeling returning veterans as potential terrorists. Given that, how could they then go along with what is in reality a very sensible idea?

    1. Anon, You are correct and they will use every excuse not to solve the problem so they can ban weapons. Thanks.

  3. Sounds like a good idea. My only thought is - would the returning vets be willing to stand guard duty all day, every day without suffering guard duty fatigue?

    1. Thanks Dani, Having 'been there and done that' I can tell you the prospect of a 6 hour day where you get to roam around and interact with others on a civil basis would be heaven compared to 12 to 20 hour days in the desert with 120 deg. heat and getting shot at on a regular basis.

  4. You know and I know that this "problem" is 100% caused by political stupidity. A milder version of your solution has been done in Israel, specifically offering training to volunteer teachers. Their kids simply have no concerns because the issue is O.V.E.R.

I like your solution even more. But you and I know the stupid class will not accept it. Guess it is up to us, isn't it.

    1. Winston, Thanks my friend, like you say the problem is caused by political stupidity and they would rather see more children and others die if it means their ultimate goal is reached to disarm the American public.

  6. There are two Marines that are standing guard at schools. One in California, and one in Memphis. They are unarmed, but hoping by just being there will make a difference.

    1. John, I had not heard that but I hope it helps however they would be a target as well if unarmed, at the very least if the situation arises they may be able to assist to avoid unnecessary causalities.

  7. Good idea with little chance of implementation, as noted above, unless the schools do it on their own. Saw a pic yesterday of a retired Marine standing guard at his son's school; I doubt anyone would try to sneak past him.

    Excellent suggestion, Duke. Well done.

    1. Rev Paul, sadly you are correct, little chance of them doing anything like this. Thanks.

  8. Some delicious irony in setting those the Left defines as "mercenary baby-killers" to defend our babies.

  10. I'm a high school teacher. There are a few kids at school that I can imagine going off the deep end - bad tempers. I have suggested to our SRO that teachers with CCHs ought to be able to carry in school. I have mine and feel naked when I go to school. The SRO agreed with the thought, but that the wussies in government would never let that happen. I'm hearing a few states have approved this, or are looking into it.

    1. Frank, I would be tempted to find a sure way to keep it concealed and do it anyway (but that' me) and not worry about it.

  11. Best idea I have heard all week! I saw the photo's of the women in Israel with their weapons. Awesome!

  12. My wife is wanting to carry a concealed weapon on her campus even though it is a federal offense. I told her just don't get caught. She is still debating on it. I told her if she can push the matter with the school board they might allow it if they bring it to a vote. There is only one documented school here in Texas that allows teachers and administrators to carry. Hopefully our law makers will soon change that for the better.

  13. I'm not a military expert, but...this is the solution we need to implement to avoid a Beslan incident here.

When a future Middle East war transpires, it is possible that Iran will use terrorists here to target schools and other soft targets.
