School Shooting, really going out on a limb.

I, like all of you were sickened and saddened by the recent school shooting in Connecticut and my heart goes out to the families of those children.

 I have never been a big conspiracy theorist but I firmly believe that the hard core left wing, socialist, communists have no soul. They will stop at NOTHING to forward their agenda, a few children is a acceptable sacrifice to pay for their goal of total control through the disarming of the American public. Having said that I do not doubt that this tragedy could have been engineered for maxim effect because lets face it a mall shooting does not cause large support for gun bans, a theater shooting did not do it, a high school shooting failed to bring about the needed outrage but an elementary school might just do it. Those who wish to control the United States have to deal with a pesky little clause called the Second Amendment, if it were not for that I have no doubt guns would be outlawed here or as difficult to obtain as they are in England or Australia.

Maybe this was not a evil plot by the anti-gun crowd but at the very least the left wing politicians have publicly stated they will not let a "good tragedy go to waste" which in itself is despicable and proves they have no soul and no redeeming qualities. I also lament the fact I feel the need to voice this opinion in the wake of this tragedy however when dealing with the likes of 0bama and the liberal Democrats we need to fight fire with fire.
 I also have no qualms in saying after 0bama gave his little teary speech and went back to his cronies they were giving each other 'high fives' knowing they had been handed a golden opportunity to push their anti-gun agenda further. If you think this is a little harsh look back through history to the narcissistic control freaks like Hitler,  Saddam Hussein, Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Lenin etc, they all had no qualms in seeing innocent people slaughtered for their own agenda and they all had the ability to gather public support to a degree. Kinda makes Home Schooling look more attractive doesn't it.
Go ahead tell me I am totally heartless, uncaring, cruel and out of touch.

Time To Tick Off A Few More People.

I like to read down my blog list daily for inspiration, news and other interesting tidbits.   I was reading over at Tam's Blog this morning about the two Australian Olympic swimmers who posed with guns inside a California gun shop and the stink it apparently caused in the press over there. I have spent time overseas in different countries including Australia and we (Americans) were looked upon favorably for the most part but it seems this is changing.  Further down my list I came across a post by Brigid which mentioned, among other things,  the rugged people who made this country. It seems anymore these kind if individuals are viewed as neanderthals and not very enlightened and I am sure this is part of the reason behind the flak over the Australian swimmers.
Over 50 years ago the communist party claimed they would never take over America by force but through our education system and we would fall from within. I may hurt some feelings here but I believe for the most part the government education system is the major cause of most of our problems. If young people were taught  to work hard for their success and not rely on government or community to prop them up we would be better off. I know some people have little or no option except public school but in my ever so humble opinion if you do have kids or grand kids in these schools you had better work overtime to debrief them on a regular basis if you don't want little liberals in your hands.....just saying.
It used to be rugged individuals were looked up to by almost everyone especially our education system, in school we would learn about real heroes, explorers, generals, soldiers, tough men and women who made a difference, kids would play cops and robbers, or practice exploring on weekends on the edge of town, or play fireman or war games. Today this is not tolerated, instead if you can find a plastic gun it is painted orange or lime green, if a kid even draws a picture of a gun in school they can be expelled.  They are taught to hold hands around a tree they planted to save the environment and pray wish for world peace. How else do you explain why a community organizer is elected in this country as president. All kidding aside, 50 years ago Obama's credentials would not have gotten him elected dog catcher, this is what you get for over 40 years of teaching this garbage. While I'm at it black people did not elect Obama, don't blame it on them. If you think about it a high percentage of the black population lives in the south, most of which went for McCain in the last election and through the beauty of the electoral college system, their vote counted for McCain, no, the reason the big "zero" was elected was the "can't we all just get along" crowd made possible through public education. For the record I am not against all public school teachers, I know there are many good patriots among them, some in my family but they are not the norm or at least they are forced to teach some of the garbage they do.

All this is not new, we have been creating this mess for a long time. This kind of mentality started back in the 60's with the "peace and love" generation, the baby boomers, it spawned the Vietnam protests and environmental activism etc. back then it was a few wackos but now it is mainstream with over 50% having some of these tendency's.  This is why I am so opposed to the idea to re-elect Obama so he can drive us off the cliff ( because it's inevitable anyway) and the right wing won't get the blame and we can re-build, fact is there are enough cool-aide drinkers to ensure if this happens that we will become a full blown socialist country and stay that way forever.
No, we need to take a stand here and now and start to turn this ship around or be prepared to man the lifeboats and live on a deserted island for the rest of our lives.......literally

Home Schooling, My Story.

 This in in memory of my 1st wife who passed away when my youngest was in 11th grade. She was not a teacher by trade but her legacy lives on it her children.
I was reading Heroditus Huxley  where she was explaining why she is homeschooling her kids, it prompted me to write this blog and maybe encourage some who are doing it or considering it.  

All 4 of my kids (now grown) were home-schooled and graduated as such. My daughter is now married and has a small home business, My eldest son is a doctor, My next son has his degree and is now starting law school and my youngest went to trade school and has a good paying job as a diesel mechanic for a dredge company and gets to travel.
It is not as hard as you might think and we found there is tons of information out there to help and contrary to popular belief most states do not set any real standards. You can get curriculum form MANY places and there is always online lessons as well.
After registering as home-schoolers we never had any problems or questions from the county school board. We were required to send in a end of school year "report" so to speak, for us it was a SAT test the kids signed up to do (the test are mainly reading and basic reasoning, very easy). There are many tests out there they will accept, and due to the high number of home-schoolers  there are many avenues for testing.  In my opinion school boards love Home-Schoolers because they still get to collect the taxes and it lowers their class size. College is not a problem either, when my eldest son signed up for college he took the standard SAT's and all I had to do was sign a form saying he graduated from home school....no report card, transcripts or anything. I think they realized that by law they HAD to accept any grade I gave him and I could lie about it so they figure what's the use just sign a paper saying he Graduated....I know hard to believe but that is ALL I did.

Most kids in school only have about 2 hours of teaching a day by the time you factor in all the other "junk" they do. break time, lunch, changing class, roll call, settling everyone down etc and then they get almost no one on one teaching so you can home-school in a lot less time and you know what they will be taught. The neat thing is you can take vacations during the school year, the weather is better, no crowds etc and chalk it up as a field trip. You can visit interesting places and they can do a report about the history there and they will never forget it. A kid in school will never get that experience.
My kids loved home school, they would get up early and self start and be finished before lunch. All my kids played sports at the local High School, By law they had to be accepted but they were quickly liked by the coaches because they were generally more disciplined.  

We have stayed a week in Key West in the winter and the the kids would write  essays about the history and geography, something they never learn as well in a book. As I said earlier the state sets no curriculum you have a lot of freedom. Even High School is not hard, for example, you  have to have 2 years foreign language my daughter studied sign language, she had a book to study from and she would sit in the deaf section at church and in  few weeks she actually got good at it.

If you get in a group you will find TONS of support and help. You will find other parents who will co-op their skills to teach groups of kids once a week. The big thing for me is they wont be indoctrinated by the liberal teachings like "hug a tree day" or learn  America is the scourge of the planet.
One of the neatest stories was when my son was in college a professor asked him after class where he went to school because he was so disciplined and knew how to think for himself when he said he was home-schooled the professor told him any home schooled kid would always be welcome in his class.
Nobody cares about your kids like you do so why leave it to a government  employee to teach them their values.

On a final note, you never know the friends your kids will make in a home-school group. My 3 sons played flag football with a little home-school kid, they got to be friends, he would sometimes come with his mother to our home and play and they would go to his home as well, His name?............. Tim Tebow.
