Gun Sales

This model was $619 with 2 mags and 20 rounds.
Back when the latest crisis started with gun and ammo sales I predicted that if you were patient things would slow down, the free market would kick in and prices would once again fall. Well I hate to be the one who said "I told you so" but it is happening just that way.
Today I went with my son to a large gun store and they had (and he bought because I told him to be patient) a Smith and Wesson M&P AR-15 with two 30 round magazines and 20 rounds of ammo for $619
That is a good price and cheaper than you could have built a parts gun a year ago. Ammo is going to follow suit in fact if everyone would stop buying ammo for even a week prices would plummet and even the big box stores would have plenty, of course you can't get the sheeple to go along so we will have to wait a little longer but it will happen. Take 22 ammo for example, the government is not talking restriction on it and the FBI, CIA, DHS etc are not buying it up and the manufacturers want to make the sales so they are producing all they can at the moment and things will reach a saturation point eventually.
If government stays out of the way free enterprise will work and for now they are staying out of the way.

It's easing up.

As I forecast a few weeks ago, the arms frenzy and supplies seems to be easing up a little for now.
I stopped by a large gun shop today and they had tons of S&W AR15's stacked on the floor on a pallet for $945
I expect in a few more weeks things will be back to like it was before Christmas, at least supply wise, prices may be a little inflated but one thing for sure, all arms and ammunition manufacturers are working in overtime, all shifts, around the clock to cash in on the situation and there may even be a glut on the market soon.

Be warned and don't get caught again when the next 'crisis' hits. It could come at any time.

Being Prepared.

I have a brief comment about being prepared. What is all the excitement people have about wanting to run out and purchase guns and ammo at this time ? Unless you just turned 18 and have been waiting to purchase your first rifle I have little sympathy. You could have bought all you wanted a few weeks ago. There has been talk of gun bans for the last 4 years...where have all these people been.

It is interesting to note that before the first Clinton gun ban sales of AR's and AK's was almost nothing. I would also like to point out anyone armed with only a 12 gauge pump shotgun would not be vulnerable and would be a force to reckon with. If you fall into the category of those who aren't ready I happen to think things will ease up a little again at least on some items and you will have a chance to buy. There will have to be a lot of debate in the House and Senate and I can assure all the manufacturers of firearms and ammo are working in overtime to 'make hay while the sun shines'

Gun Sales, Gun Bans.

I was reading the paper this morning and saw where congress was thinking of banning high capacity 'clips'.......if that will make them happy and solve the problems I can live with that as long as they leave magazines alone, see I could compromise.
On another note, I went by a local gun store today to check out some supplies, the parking lot was packed and I had to wait for a parking spot. Once inside people were stacked 10 deep at the counter and the line was around the store for the cash register.
Here is prices I overheard quoted to customers.
Stripped AR15 lower, $500 (CMMG $110 last week)
S&W stripped lower, $600
Plastic  30 round AR mags, $35
Basic Bushmaster AR15 $ 3000
I understand many stores are sold out but this one had a good supply however they were way down from normal supply levels, I guess they decided to gouge as much as possible.
BTW, this is probably the largest gun shop in NE Florida and I have bought a lot here in the past, don't think I will forget their price gouging any time soon.
No..... I did not buy anything.
