I Wonder ?

I am not a big fan of lawyers. I know they have their place for things like property dealings, legal agreements, wills, family issues etc but those who make a living by bringing frivolous lawsuits are a blight on our country. I despise them with a passion, they cost all of us thousands of dollars in increased prices of goods, car insurance costs, health insurance premiums,  doctor fees and the list goes on. These leaches have almost no redeeming qualities. Even the people who have legitimate cases for a lawsuit  are screwed over by these sharks because they many times will settle out of court and take their percentage of the claim then move on to the next case because they can make more money from a high volume of cases rather than spending weeks and months on a legitimate case.
I have more use for my garbage man than I will ever have for most lawyers. If people really understood the impact these ambulance chasers had on us and how much it costs us each year for their thug dealings they would be more hated than Osama Bin Laden. There is a local attorney who advertises on TV here and I have seen him walking on downtown streets and he is constantly looking over his shoulder, he cowers his head like a dog protecting a bone, I wonder how he enjoys his ill gotten gains.
I think this country needs major tort reform but lawyers control the legal system as well as the government and for this reason it seems the vast majority of lawyers who make a living from lawsuits are big supporters of liberal politicians who fight to squash tort reform.
This got me to thinking the other day when the SCOTUS upheld the 0bama health care tax (yes 0bama is spelled with a zero) I wonder if these lowlife lawyers realize what the government has done to them.
One thing the government hates is someone stealing the money they have taken from us, for this reason the federal government insulates themselves from lawsuits at all costs. I was thinking if and when the entire health care system, doctors, hospitals, health insurance etc is a government program I am quite sure there will be protection from lawsuits against the government healthcare system. Kind of funny in a way seeing as health care, doctor and hospital lawsuits are a major chunk of frivolous lawsuits.
Maybe some of those lawyers can get a more productive job like picking up my garbage.

  1. Here near Houston there is a lawyer called the "Texas Hammer". He brags about the hundreds of thousand he can get you for being in an accident. "He doesn't growl,he bites back to get the money you deserve." That's his slogan.

Granted here you must get a lawyer if you are in an accident because of all the illegals. Real drivers licenses and insurance are few and far between. LOL

  2. You, of all people, know how much I hate lawyers...as I type this there is a local lawyer that owes me a bit over $650.00. I've tried for over four months to collect my fee. I've driven to his office, many times, and his secretary smiles and says he's just ducked out the back door. I've tried letters, emails, text, and of course, the phone with zero results. One of these days he'll screw up and I'll catch him in person. Then, he'll have another excuse for a law suit. They're worthless.

    1. Call the lawyer set an appt. as Robert N Weave. (bob n weave) walk in at the appt time and say you have an meeting. You can always call the Florida Bar Assoc. too. Flood his mail with magazines or get their phone number on the telemarketers list. That's EZ to do.

  3. Historically they have always been hated...in Gulliver's Travels (the Voyage to the Hounyhyms, chapter V) he is describing his country to the ruler of these creatures. "I said there was a Society of Men among us, bred up from their Youth in the Art of proving by Words multiplied for the Purpose, that White is Black, and Black is White, according as they are paid. To this Society all the rest of the People are Slaves." He then describes how lawyers must be hired to defend his rights, but "in this Case, I...lie under two great Disadvantages. First, my Lawyer being practiced almost from his Cradle in defending Falshood; is quite out of his Element when he would be an Advocate for Justice...It is a Maxim among these Lawyers, that whatever hath been done before, may legally be done again: And therefore they take special Care to record all the Decisions formerly made against common Justice and the general Reason of Mankind. These, under the Name of Precedents, they produce as Authorities to justify the most iniquitous Opinions...In pleading, they studiously avoid entering into the Merits of the Cause; but are loud, violent and tedious in dwelling upon all Circumstances which are not to the Purpose...It is likewise to be observed, that this Society hath a peculiar Cant and Jargon of their own, that no other Mortal can understand, and wherein all their Laws are written, which they take special Care to multiply; whereby they have wholly confounded the very Essence of Truth and Falshood, of Right and Wrong; so that it will take Thirty Years to decide whether the Field, left me by my Ancestors for six Generations, belong to me, or to a Stranger three Hundred Miles off." When you realize that Swift died in 1745, you can see how long this nonsense has been going on. More quotes:

The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.
    William Shakespeare
    (from Henry V)

I don't think you can make a lawyer honest by an act of legislature. You've got to work on his conscience. And his lack of conscience is what makes him a lawyer.
    Will Rogers

With that said, there is a great group of Christian lawyers called the Alliance Defense Fund, which takes on all kinds of cases for Christians (conscience issues for medical professionals, religious liberty issues for students, etc.)and I think more lawyers like them are sorely needed! Also HSLDA, the Homeschool Legal Defence Association, which stands up for parents' rights and homeschooling family rights across the nation.
