What is wrong with people ?

Sorry I have been a little of a slacker lately when it comes to blogging. I was over visiting my friend Stephen the other day and it got me back in the groove a little.
I was watching a little 'Fox and Friends' this morning and caught a clip about this former State Trooper from Virginia who is in trouble  because he bought a rifle for a gift to his uncle (who was not a felon) and it is going to court because the feds claim it was a 'Straw Purchase'
I don't know where to start with this, first off the guy is an idiot for telling what he did and asking for permission. What is wrong with supposedly free people asking the government what they can do ? Free men don't ask permission, they just do it, second of all if you do get in a bind there are loop holes which legally allow him to do this. He could have said (if asked by authorities) that he intended to keep the gun but sold or traded it to his uncle because he didn't need it anymore

 I do agree this whole thing is absurd because from the ATF's own web site they state that the reason for making straw purchases illegal is to prevent people buying guns for those who aren't legally able to on their own and this is obviously not the case here. At the gun store when you sign the form stating the firearm is for you to enjoy who is to say you don't enjoy giving it away as a gift to a family member.
I feel so sorry for people who live their whole life worrying what the government thinks and wanting the governments blessing on their lives, as I have said before when I want to do something I ponder many things but what the government thinks is last on the list.

Supporting the Resistance.

With all the talk about health care and government wanting to control every aspect of our lives it is interesting that I received an email about "Supporting the Resistance" I decided to write my own idea of this.
First of all and make no mistake, money drives the greed machine we know as the government this is the exact reason they tax, add user fees, license and regulate every aspect of our lives so it makes sense to cut off any unnecessary funds from them so I have listed ways I plan to work this out.
Don't borrow money, the government collects fees on banks, credit card companies and in general large corporations pay big chunks of corporate tax so by cutting down on their business we cut down on government revenue.
Support local business. Large companies pay big tax bills and small companies not so much and some small shops will give a discount for cash.  When possible buy used items, this cuts down on import items as well and keeps money in the local economy so it goes without saying private sales are totally tax free and cut the government out of any share.  Bartering is another excellent way to not only cut off government funding but save a lot of money as well. Another little known fact, if you buy a car for example from a private individual you will pay tax on the price when you apply for the tag and title however if you barter or trade for the vehicle there is no tax, in our state for example when you apply for the title you simply put "trade" where the form asks for the price paid and the tax is zero, in fact I have never had it questioned it is none of their business what you trade. Craigslist has a whole section devoted to items for barter or trade.
Growing a garden is another good way to cut down on government funding and also gives you barter items not to mention the health benefits. Speaking of health we have decided not to participate in the health care exchanges, my wife is one who can't keep her plan, and we won't pay a penalty either (I won't give away that secret because I don't want to hurt this venue) you can do the research for yourself . I am sure you may have other ways to cut down on government funding if you do please share.
I am just a little voice in the wilderness but I will do my part to starve the beast and it goes without saying less money to the government means more in my pocket, how can you argue with that.

So what's next ?

I am convinced that the average person has no clue how basic economics works, I say this because there seems little concern over continued raising of the national debt ceiling. I think the average person really believes it's just a matter of the government printing more money, they don't understand if you double the amount of currency out there you cut it's value in half. Why do you think gas has doubled in the last few years, it's because the sellers of oil know our money is diluted.

For one moment forget about being liberal or conservative, forget about being republican or democrat, forget about being rich or poor and look at this chart here. Lets pretend this is your household debt. Instead of being $9 Trillion lets say it is $9 million, would you already be bankrupt, would the bank still be loaning you money to stay afloat. Would you have the ability to loan money to yourself ??? how crazy is that?
Let me tell you what drives politicians and everything else in the business world, money and power do you really believe they are concerned about the little people, the pawns, they all cater and promise anything to get our votes and don't care if they follow through on their promises. I could sit here and write volumes of indisputable facts about promises made from 0bama to the newest congressman and show they were all bold faced lies. They all promise what we want to hear and then throw us away like garbage when they can't use us anymore. It's all a big switch game to them. Martin Luther King was a registered Republican because they had been championing civil rights in the 50's and early 60's. Democrats were violently opposed to civil rights now they say they champion civil rights. Groups like the 'Moral Majority' promoted the Republicans in the 90's only to be abandoned after they got what they wanted. The Tea Party now has much the same story. I tend to think it is much like pro wrestling, they get up there and fight in front of the cameras but behind the scenes they slap each other on the back and laugh at us for being fooled.
This may seem a little disjointed but I will sum it up as I see it. The United States 'invented' the middle class. Before that you only had rich and poor but that does not bode well for politicians hungry for power and/or money. I won't even try and lay out all the things done in the past few years to weaken the middle class but those who consider themselves middle class (like myself) know how your financial situation has been weakened considerably. Just in the matter of so called health care they are trying to siphon money from the private sector to the government which is about 15% of the economy. They drive the up cost of private insurance through unreasonable conditions like per-existing conditions (although I do wish they could do that with my auto insurance) so people will be forced to buy government insurance. Who has to have the insurance? the poor and the middle class (who they want to make poorer) The rich have exemptions, and the penalty ? that is directly focused at the middle class, no rich person will pay it because they have insurance and the poor will be exempt.
So what do I think is next, well whether you believe any of this or not the fact is we can't sustain the debt forever and keep raising it. It's kind of like giving beads to the American Indians till they figured out they had no value and stopped taking them. One day the rest of the world will wake up as well and when that happens hyper inflation will hit like it did in Germany before WWII.
You can use your imagination how the civil unrest will play out but bottom line is those in power will be set to take total control and remold the economy to suite them and trust me they will NOT be giving power back to the people.
Oh, by the way, there is one big problem they have to figure out in the meantime, how to disarm the public, you see you can't have total control if the peasants are armed.........but they're working on it.

9-11, Free men don't ask permission.

Two million bikers head toward DC. There was concern from the organizers about not getting a permit and that had me puzzled, when did free men start asking permission from government to protest or parade or picket ? Free men don't ask permission. 

Do you think the Patriots in 1773 asked for a permit for the Boston Tea Party ?
Thankfully the sponsors came to their senses and decided to ride anyway. I would also hope if they had received a permit they would have burned it on the capital steps to show they were free and did not need a permit to demonstrate.
This is what is wrong with our country, too many free people thinking they need government permission exercise their constitutional rights. 
Oh by the way, I concealed carried for years before the State said I could because it is a constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Government is your family ???

Some fourth grade students in Illinois are being taught Government is your family and were given the following test. I thought I would list my answers.

1. How does your family keep you safe?

Answer,  They keep us away from government intrusion and buy a gun for protection and teach kids to think for themselves.

2. How does the government keep its citizens safe?

Answer, They don't, they undermine family authority, they tell us guns are dangerous 

3. How does your family keep you healthy?

Answer, They feed us good food and take us to a good doctor when we are sick. We also get exercise like hiking, camping and hunting.

4. How does the government keep its citizens healthy?
Answer, They hinder the family by forcing us to use 0bama care. They want to limit the size of sodas but not limit the garbage kids can watch on TV.

5. How does your family help you learn and become educated?
Answer, they teach us to think for ourselves and don't believe what government tells us. If at all possible they home-school us.
 
6. How does the government help its citizens learn and become educated?
Answer, They indoctrinate us to be good little liberals, this stupid little test is a perfect example. 

7. What kind of rules does your family have for you?
Answer, Don't smoke, drink, have sex, play with matches or run with scissors.

8. What kind of rules does government have for its citizens?
Answer, They teach us to be ourselves and if it feels good do it. They teach us parents don't know what is best for us.

9. How does your family punish you when you break the rules?
Answer, They give as a spanking or time out and we learn there is consequences to our actions.

10. How does government punish citizens who break the law?
Answer, They tell is it isn't our fault, it's because of our upbringing. They tell us government knows best how to raise children

I am Liberal

Why is it we let the liberal, pinko, tree hugging,dope smoking, bed wetters set the meaning for words and phrases.

I think we should take some words back from the liberals, here is a start.
I am Liberal because I believe in liberty, I don't think government should control our lives. I am liberal because I have an open mind and can think for myself, I have developed critical thinking, I can read and decipher facts and not have my mind clouded by others narrow views, this is almost the exact opposite of what 'liberals' claim to be because even in the face of facts they will say stuff like "well anyway it's just not fair" or "I just feel it is wrong" or more often they just plain ignore facts and decide not to believe them because it does not fit their agenda.
I am also Pro Choice, I choose to be free, I choose not let government decide my fate. I want to choose what kind of car to drive regardless of how many miles to the gallon it gets, I want to choose what type of gun I want and how many round of ammunition it will hold. I choose to educate my kids the way I want free of government intervention. I choose not to have government force me to buy health insurance. I choose to uphold the Constitution of the United States and not abide by all the unconstitutional laws they impose on us.
 Government hates free people because they loose their power, they prefer 'slaves' who they can control. Government suckers us into thinking we are free but really we are only 'free' as far as their chain will let us go.
Some may think this view is a little extreme but why is it government and even the IRS target free thinkers like the Tea Party, or gun groups, or home schoolers, or survivalists etc. The reason is they don't want free people, free people don't ask permission from government.
I do not ask permission from government.

Guns and ammo shortages, what next ?

A lot of people have wondered what will happen next as far as supply of guns and ammo. I cannot predict the future and and won't pretend to but I do have a gut feeling about it.

 Around election time last year some people got caught with little or no supplies and with the school shootings and the election outcome there was a lot of talk about gun bans and ammo taxes and background checks and registration etc. which resulted in panic buying, I remember saying back then it will pass in a few months and it has.
The gun control issue for now seems dead in the Senate (I said for NOW) but it will be back, my guess is after the next election. You see gun control is a 'third rail' to most politicians and the Democrats don't want to appear anti-gun because they desperately need the House back next November to further their dismantling of the Constitution.
 I remember just three or four  months ago AR15's were out of stock and fetching $2000 and up. and ammo such as 9mm was non-existent. Gun and ammo manufacturers are capitalists and they are cranking out their wares in overtime to meet the demand and it is starting to catch up. I personally saw a few days ago at a large gun store stacks of complete AR15's made by CMMG  for $649 and Bushmasters for $719. Today at a local big chain sports store I saw plenty of 9mm for $10.99 for a box of 50 so supply is coming back for now.  I have a hunch that once supply passes demand there will be a glut and you will see some good sales prices maybe in as little as two or three months.
If you got caught shorthanded last time I think you dodged a bullet and if you are patient you will be rewarded with the ability to build up supplies but be warned the anti-gun crowd will be back with a vengeance at some point, probably after November 2014 and the next time there is an ammo and gun ban scare it may be for real.
Anyway this is just my opinion, I may be all wrong so take it for what it's worth. However if you get caught short again shame on you.

Assault Rifles

There is a lot of hype about assault weapons, I have written before about how things may have changed if politicians in the past viewed the second amendment like the losers we have running the country today.
Just to be clear, in 1776 the average citizen could own the state of the art weapons just like the military did......Talk about keeping politicians honest, could it be that was what the founding fathers had in mind?

Boston Bombing

When I first flipped on the news and heard about this yesterday (about 2 hours after it happened) it had not been ruled an 'act of terror' however after the official response changed to the "T" word my reaction was they must think it is a right wing group, maybe something to do with it being April 15th being tax day. I thought this because if they suspected a Muslim group it would be ruled a accidental explosion or something equally stupid.
It does bring about the need for universal background checks for not only guns but any items at the hardware or grocery store which could be used to make a bomb. I am sure the Senate could make a laundry list of all items needing a background check to ensure this does not happen again. In fact I'm thinking we need to do a background on every time you have to fill up your car with gas, I mean a gas bomb is one of the worst. Just my thoughts, I trying hard here to think like a liberal.
My thoughts do go out to the victims and their families.

Currency, Government Slavery

A few days ago I wrote about different ways the government keeps us in slavery and as I pondered this it dawned on me our monetary system is another form of slavery.
 You may think that having a good supply of money is a hedge against any form of 'slavery' because after all if you can go places and have things you are not enslaved and while that may sound good on the surface it is not totally true. Our current monetary system is much like the old 'Company Store' the miners had where the 'company' issued tokens or 'money' as payment for work which could only be used at the company store and the mine owners set the value of the currency, and so it is today the government gives us their currency and they set the value by deciding how they think our economy should be structured either by printing more money and devaluing it or setting interest rates etc. It is all a very complicated system of taxes, fees, bank regulations, min.wages, trade balances, printing, government spending.....the list seems endless.
The Government knows that if we have to use their "legal tender" they can control us through taxes and fees, even if we keep it in banks they have control over those as well via regulations. It is all a clever design to have control and power.
At one time our currency was based on a 'gold standard' which means our coins had silver or gold content and our paper money could be redeemed for gold and silver as well but that is not so any more, the government had the bright idea in the 1960's to do away with that standard and set our monetary values at whatever they say it's worth and we all know how good their word is.
I have used this example before but it still makes a point of how this has worked out for us. In 1960 (when quarters had silver content) you could buy a gallon of gas with a quarter, however the government said that it wasn't necessary to have a gold standard anymore because they would look out for us and regulate the value of currency (interpret, control us and the money) so through manipulation of the markets and money value (buying power) we now have gas around $3.60 per gallon. We bought into their cleverly devised scheme to 'spread the wealth' and thought it didn't matter but the heat was gradually being turned up on the frogs and through inflation we are at this stage and because the more you earn and spend the more taxes you pay the government was the big winner especially considering the government still has all the gold they once had backing the dollar.
 Here is the big kicker, if you had saved your quarters back then (prior to 1964) and put them in a safe you could today go to a coin shop and cash each one in for $5.17 at today's silver prices and guess what you could still buy a gallon of gas and have money left for a cup of coffee, so you see how the government has 'helped us out.'
Bottom line is money saved in the form of gold and silver is the best hedge against not only inflation but freedom against government control and taxes because if you had saved gold and silver back then gas would in effect (along with most everything else) be cheaper today. The reason gas costs $3.60 a gallon is because the money we are using is not worth near what it used to be not because oil has more value.
The moral of today's story........ Less government means more freedom, always has always will.

This is getting a little strange

I don't know what to think about anything anymore.

Chris Kyle, Navy Seal

 I know the left wing control freaks have no soul and I know they will stop at nothing to forward their agenda. Over the years they have failed to bring about the destruction of the Second Amendment so "Shazam" we have Sandy Hook  shooting.  The NRA and the rest of us point out that these "gun free zones" are worthless and if guns are so evil then why do you never see a killing like that at a gun show or even areas where people are known to carry. We also point out the best defense is being well trained and know how to use you weapon.
So what do you know........we now have a Navy Seal (undoubtedly one of the best trained weapons experts in the world) killed at a gun range, where everyone is armed and then the shooter walks away (however he is eventually caught)

This just seems to all  be a little too convenient for the bed wetters.
PS, if you want some really thought provoking stuff go over to YouTube and look at all the videos about Sandy Hook that claim it is a hoax, I promise you will be scratching your head in disbelief.
Not saying I believe any of it but just saying.

Gun Control

 We often wonder what made government turn out the way it did, I am reminded of a speech given by John Adams to the military in 1798 where he warned his fellow countrymen stating, "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion . . . Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." 
This I believe is telling because if you think about it this is the reason we have to keep adding laws to our books because people with no morals are not fit to govern themselves. I have no problem with a moral, upstanding person owning a fully auto M60 or  even an RPG however I don't think I like the idea of the local  Black Panther Party or the neighborhood crack dealer owning one.
By the same token there is nothing in the constitution about not beating your wife or not sexual abusing children because the the founding fathers never thought we would have turned into such a debase society.
Just Dukes two cents worth.
 

It's Starting To Happen !

I have often said when things start going bad and times get tough it will separate the men from the boys and the weak from the strong. Some people like to be on a winning team and when it looks like a team may be winning they are quick to jump on the wagon .I have speculated many times about these 'mall ninjas' who act big and talk tough but if weapons were illegal they would be standing in line to turn them in rather than risk prison, well we are not to that stage yet however after the election I am reading blogs and emails from people saying we should accept the fact the American people have spoken and we should all get behind 0bama and help him, as far as I am concerned that is wrong, I will not help someone who I believe is undermining our values and freedoms. If a rattle snake got into my child's crib I would not say "well I guess we should try and understand it's needs and work with it" no! I would dispatch it and discard it in the garbage. I will not try and work with those who fundamentally disagree with our founding government. 0bama is not a friend of the US, he has apparently fooled many into thinking he is trying to help us and work for our good. If he was wanting to help us he would have approved the Canada pipeline construction, if he wanted to help us he would not have spent his first 2 years (with Dem's controlling the Senate and Congress) passing a health care bill nobody really wanted and we have yet to see how that will cripple our economy. I have lived in countries with "free" health care and most of their expenses are taxes, that is why tourists come here and buy Levis for $35 or $45 instead of $145 in their country... or they pay $9 for a gallon of gas instead of $3.40 but whoopee they have "free healthcare" In case you have not heard, NOTHING IS FREE and nothing the government does is cheep or efficient. The closest thing the government does well is the military but it by no means is cheep, anyone who has served can attest to the screwed up way the military operates much of the time.
0bama was not raised American, even if he was born here he was raised in anti American countries and raised by Anti American parents and grandparents and tutored by communists and terrorists (don't even try and argue against these facts, it's too well documented) he is on a crusade to destroy our economy or at the very best turn us into Europe with all it's socialism. I will not accept that he is good hearted and needs time to work things out, he has said he wants to fundamentally transform our country,  he wants revenge on the United States for our 'oppressing' other nations. (he actually said before the last election voting for him was the best way to get revenge) That scares me, revenge for what? I take great offense to him thinking America has treated other nations wrong (as he said on his first 'apology tour' overseas) America has sacrificed over 350,000 in WWI and over 1,000,000 in WWII I think that alone makes up for 'wrong' he may think we have caused.
I, like many of you have held security clearances for the US Government and know the questions and documentation you need for all your friends, family and acquaintances overseas to make sure you are not even friendly with anti-government sources, therefore I find it totally appalling that we have a imposter living in the White House who could never pass a security clearance and yet considers himself Commander in Chief.  If Bush had miss pronounced "Navy Corpsman" do you think he would have been labeled a total idiot ?....I think you know the answer to that.
Have we all forgotten the way our ambassador was slaughtered in Libya because 0bama was afraid to see dead Muslims in the street before the election. Have we forgotten the tripling of our debt in the last four years, have we forgotten the health care debacle. The list is endless, he has heaped more grief and misery and debt on us than we and our grandchildren will ever be free of.

I for one will not try to 'get along' with him and his policies, I will not bend to his anti-American views and laws against the Constitution. I for one (by the grace of God) will not be known for how much I could bend over to get along with the enemy but rather by how tall and straight I could stand against tyranny.
Now that I have had time to reflect maybe I am wrong. I think Hitler would have turned out OK if the Jewish people had gotten behind him and maybe worked with him more. So lets all hold hands and sing.
I guess those who support 0bama would have been in the group who were against our rebellion with England in 1776 because after all we were against the policies of our own government. It is funny to me how people like Hillary Clinton can say they were patriots for opposing George Bush but somehow now we are not.  
Is there one person out there who can tell me they would be satisfied if 0bama could re-write our constitution anyway he wanted, if you said yes you are not a friend of this great country if you say no......enough said, I made my point.
As a great man once said "The only way for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing."

You Know What I Despise ?

Safety warnings, I hate them, they insult my intelligence.  I don't need a sign telling me hot coffee will burn me. This is why we have parents, to teach us common sense.
 I wish after McDonalds had the law suit against them for the hot coffee incident they had filed a counter suit against the parents of the plaintiff because they raised an idiot.

 What I see when I read safety warnings is, "Bless your little heart, you are just so stupid so we will spell it out for you"
 I have a Ruger revolver in 44 mag that had the Adobe "read me file" on the barrel so I turned it down to remove it, it looks so much better, like a gun is supposed to look. If you have to have a safety warning let it say in the owners manual, "If you are too stupid this will kill or injure you" end of warning.
 Why would a person see a power saw cut wood or steel and not realize it will cut your fingers off. If a person does not have the mental capacity to operate machinery do you really think they have the mental capacity read and understand a warning?
  I tend to believe we play God by issuing safety warnings, did God put a sign or hand rail on a cliff to stop people from falling off ?  No he intended for us to either have common sense and make good choices or have parents to protect us when we were children.
In the same vein I think instructions in this country should be printed in English only, If I was in Germany I would expect instructions in German only.
  If I had my way the only Spanish (or any other language) in the instructions would be " These instructions are in English, if you cant read them you stand a good chance of being maimed or killed" 
I love freedom and don't need the government mandating safety warnings via OSHA or any other agency. I also realize companies print warnings to protect from law suits however this is the product of our government run schools indoctrination centers that teach kids nothing is your fault it's the big evil companies who are endangering you. I have a novel idea, lets teach kids if you step out in front of a car you will get run over and killed, but no, we put flashers on school buses to stop traffic so kids learn they are so important everyone will cater to them.... and you really wonder how we have raised a generation of self centered people who think like the Occupy Wall Street crowd.  
  I don't prescribe to a lot of conspiracy theories however I do think there is a plan via the government brainwashing centers to breed a whole generation of government dependents who think they belong to government and the government always knows best. I guess the next election will reveal if we have reached the tipping point and the government has created enough dependents and non-thinkers to gain total control.
